Tanya Yeomans is a geospatial scientist who uses textile art and digital media to explore concepts of place and meaning. Her practice involves digital game design, drone imagery, Geographic Information Systems, embroidery, knitting, and hand-dyeing fabric with locally foraged materials.

 

Tanya's current projects are centered around remote sensing, fieldwork, and the boreal forest.  She is interested in how textile work and scientific knowledge can co-create rich and complicated understandings of technology, the environment, and personal experience.
